Maharana Pratap Government Degree College, Nanakmatta was established in 2021. In the same year, the Department of Geography was established with the aim of promoting the study of physical, human, and economic geography. The department focuses on developing environmental awareness, cartographic skills, and spatial analysis abilities among students. Regular lectures, practical classes, field surveys, and educational excursions are organized to provide students with hands-on learning experiences. The department also encourages the use of modern tools such as GIS and remote sensing to enhance geographical understanding.
